House & Garden Fair 2004 See photos

Winner of best-designed exhibition stand at The Daily Telegraph House and Garden Fair 2004.

This truly consumer show demanded a different approach to previous exhibitions. I began by sketching ideas and developing mood boards, this led to the concept of having two areas, one for bathroom and one for kitchen. The bathroom area featured designer guild wallpapers and a raised area at the front of the stand displaying a shower with a huge 12’ rose. Water fell into a beautiful Paris style bath, set on Cath Kidston carpet. A real show stopper. The kitchen area had two bars and a wall unit displaying kitchen product made by Mark Wilkinson Furniture.

Following the success of 100% 2003 Perrin & Rowe decided to attend the show for a second year. This time the company had new objectives and the brief was tough.

The final design incorporated two areas; the lower area staged a 4-meter bar in red displaying the working taps. Clear Perspex at one end of the bar displayed the unique under workings of the products. The upper area displayed a beautiful bathroom setup and four pods showed images and tools used in the manufacturing processes. To add a contemporary feel the walls curved and were covered in white Perspex. Inside walls displayed stunning wallpapers.

In 2003 Perrin & Rowe decided they would like to exhibit at 100% Design, a contemporary design show showcasing a mix of high level contemporary designers and manufacturers. Traditionally the company had only exhibited at trade shows so the whole concept for the stand required a new approach. We set about getting inspiration to display our contemporary ranges and decided to wow visitors with live running water. The final design featured a 3 x 3 meter wall made from white stitched leather displaying live working showers. Water fell into a real grass lined trough of huge up lighted marbles. The white leather theme continued through the stand and dark wood flooring finished the look.
